Modern Slavery Statement
Man with Van Chiswick Modern Slavery Commitment
Man with Van Chiswick is committed to conducting all aspects of its business in an ethical and responsible manner. We recognise that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation are serious crimes and gross violations of fundamental human rights. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to help ensure that modern slavery does not occur within our own operations or our supply chains.
We operate in the transport and removals sector and understand that our responsibilities extend beyond our direct workforce to the contractors, agency workers, and suppliers who support our business. We are committed to continuous improvement in identifying, preventing, and addressing any risks of modern slavery.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Man with Van Chiswick has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not tolerate any form of forced labour, debt bondage, child labour, servitude, or workplace exploitation in our operations or supply chains. Any breach of this policy is treated as a serious matter and may result in termination of employment or business relationships.
All staff, including drivers, operational teams, and administrative personnel, are expected to act with integrity and to uphold our ethical standards at all times. We clearly communicate our stance on modern slavery to our workforce and explain that everyone has a responsibility to report concerns and to support vulnerable individuals where possible.
Supplier Standards and Audits
Our supply chain includes vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment providers, and labour agencies. We aim to work only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to combating modern slavery and promoting fair working conditions.
We require our key suppliers and contractors to comply with all applicable labour and human rights laws. Where proportionate, we seek written confirmation that they have policies and processes in place to prevent modern slavery and that they, in turn, expect the same standards from their own suppliers.
Man with Van Chiswick conducts risk-based checks and audits of suppliers. These may include reviewing supplier policies and relevant documentation, requesting confirmation of right-to-work checks, and, where appropriate, carrying out on-site assessments. If we identify a potential or actual modern slavery risk, we will work with the supplier to remediate the issue. Where progress is not satisfactory, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We actively encourage the reporting of any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. All workers, contractors, and third parties are urged to raise issues if they suspect that someone is being exploited, coerced, or forced to work against their will.
Individuals can report concerns directly to management or through any established internal reporting process operated by Man with Van Chiswick. Reports may be made confidentially, and we will take all allegations seriously.
We are committed to ensuring that no one who raises a concern in good faith suffers any form of retaliation or disadvantage as a result. We will investigate concerns promptly, take appropriate remedial action, and, where necessary, cooperate with relevant authorities.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the senior management of Man with Van Chiswick. Managers are expected to promote ethical behaviour and to remain alert to the warning signs of exploitation, particularly when engaging new suppliers or temporary labour.
We aim to raise awareness among our staff about modern slavery risks relevant to our sector. This may include guidance on identifying signs of exploitation, understanding safe reporting routes, and knowing how to respond if a potential victim is identified.
Monitoring, Annual Review, and Continuous Improvement
Man with Van Chiswick recognises that the risks of modern slavery can change over time as our business and supply chains evolve. We therefore review this Modern Slavery Statement on an annual basis to assess its effectiveness and to identify opportunities for improvement.
As part of our annual review, we consider any reported concerns, changes in our supplier base, relevant legal or regulatory developments, and feedback from staff or stakeholders. We will update our processes, training, and supplier controls where necessary to strengthen our prevention and response measures.
This Modern Slavery Statement reflects our ongoing commitment to operating responsibly, respecting human dignity, and working to ensure that our services are delivered without exploitation at any stage of the value chain.
